In Review: Optoma Pico PK101 Projector

 Optoma Pico Projector

This one is fun. Connect your mobile device to the Optoma Pico PK101 and show pictures and videos anywhere!

I recently needed to display video from my iPhone in a small setting. Simple. I just connected the little Pico projector (and I mean little — it weighs just 4 oz., including battery) and projected a 60" image that everyone in the room could see.

The Pico contains a TI DLP chip to produce an image with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. It recharges via USB connection to computer or power supply or can be powered via AC power. It even has an audio in. Note that with an iPhone or iPod, it is not possible to mirror the device’s screen. It will output photos or video only.

Optoma has produced a $219 device with a remarkably bright and high-contrast LED light source which could be just about the ideal portable presentation adjunct to any portable device. And yes, it will work with your laptop computer as well.

The projector takes composite input only so it is SD.

What's the resolution? This seems like one of the most important factors when reviewing a projector....

I was excited to read this review as well, as I had already heard about this product. I have to agree, there aren't really enough details to call this a review, but thanks anyway. It has peaked my curiosity to look for more information. Thanks, Anthony B. www.mn8multimedia.com
